OWS -- Self-Selection (from August 2012?) "Mis-placed Post"

I'm not going to get into my specific political beliefs here.  Not the place.

But I will say that I'm intolerant of idiocy.

Today's deletion threw a political grenade in the form of an anti-Occupy Wall Street poster.  That's okay, that's his right.  The reason I have a problem with it, is that he just posted it to irritate people.  His "friends" proceeded to get into a full-out discourse on the sate of politics and capitalism in the resulting thread, and it was really interesting to read.  I enjoyed it immensely, mostly because it meant that these people were actually taking time to think.

And then he chimed back in with a message which was basically, "Hippies smell bad.  And they're in my way.  Derp"

Useless.

Waste of my time.

And I literally have never met you in real life (at one point, friend-of-a-FB-friend, you were occasionally interesting, so I approved your request) so this one is a no-brainer.  Pun intended.

Squeick!

Or however you'd spell that bizarre quacking sound our Lit professor would make when he took attendance so long ago in college.

How long ago?  Ten years ago.

You kinda declared an allegiance when I changed (and eventually married) mine.  Not sure how exactly we ended up connected online, but little has come of it.  As in, not a single character typed by you, ever.

Too bad.  I found you interesting, and highly intelligent.

Squieck, indeed.

Cheers!

Another high school cheerleading friend.

I quit cheer 18 years ago (A whole new high-school cheerleader ago?!?!?)

If I'm remembering correctly, you had run off to Florida with an actor.

His only work (he claimed) that anyone would "know" is that he played Chuck E. Cheese -- yes the guy inside the costume -- in the commercials.  I never thought to verify this info with you since we connected online... :)

I notice, though, that it didn't work out.  I guess I'll never know the details.

Chef, Jr.

Barely knew you before you moved away from our brewery job.  Still "friends" with your wife... for now.

Don't know HOW you're still working the line.  I thought bartending was tiring.  Wish you a happy life with plenty of kitchen fans and back massages!

You two are like...

...the inhale and exhale from a fine cigar.

The only thing I remember you ever saying to me, on one of many nights of debauchery.  A short-term co-worker, many years and many miles ago.

So long.

Pump, and dump.

Met this one at a research study for nursing moms.  The "researchers" got us drunk, and we pumped breastmilk, and then tested it for alcohol.

What a weird place to be introduced to someone.

Anyhow, I knew when I walked through the door that we'd end up hanging out that night.  One of my superpowers is having the neediest, most drama-filled, and most awkward person in an entire building attracted to me like a magnet (and in the case of guys, creepiest).  And sure enough....

All the drama was entertaining, to say the least.

Not to say that she wasn't nice, and it's always good to have contacts in town.  But now that she's moved across the state, I think it's safe to cut this one loose.

FFFFUUUUUUU....

Rage.

I was tempted to post some sort of comment below your picture of a sculpture of a supposed 12-week-old fetus nestled in the palm of a woman's hand, and the sanctimonious comment that accompanied it.

The following quote (not mine) sums up my feelings about this.

"The existence of legal and available abortion does not impose itself on those who would never use it. Even those people who most strongly support the availability of abortion as an option do not force abortion onto women who want no part of that ideology. They do not seek people out and demand that wanted pregnancies be terminated. They do not shame or abuse women who would choose to be mothers. That's a situation that you can't reverse and say the same of. People who most strongly oppose abortion do everything in their power to impose their will on women who want no part of their ideology. They do seek people out and demand that unwanted pregnancies be carried to term. They do shame and abuse women who would choose to not be a mother (whether that falls under the category of "never," "not yet," "not again," or "I will most likely die if this is not stopped"). THAT is horrible, and THAT must be stopped."

I haven't had an abortion.  But did you vet your entire friend list, and make sure that no one had?  'Cause I'm pretty sure I know about at least one.  And you would NEVER shame this person directly, and instead put up your bullshit passive-aggressive propaganda.

How insensitive.
